Google Acquired Feedburner

Yeah its true according to TechCrunch, that Google acquired Feedburner, which is a web feed management company. The whole deal was in cash and mostly upfront, although the founders will be locked in for a couple of years.

What cool is taken YouTube, and now Feedburner? Hope they’ll be buying ICANN?

Interesting news for publishers currently running Feedburner’s advertising program because it’s likely that Google might integrate its Adsense contextual ad network with Feedburner.

Feedburner has a large inventory of publishers currently using their services and it would make sense for Google to tap these current users instead of relaunching or promoting Adsense for Feeds, Google’s RSS advertising program which has been in a perpetual closed beta since 2005.

Current Adsense publishers will also have the option of experimenting with feed based monetization. The integration with Adsense might also result in a lower barrier of entry (subscription level) for publishers.

Not to mention that Google will finally be stepping head-on into the RSS advertising industry by allowing it’s Adwords advertisers to purchase feed-based ad campaigns through Feedburner’s current setup.

It’ll be very interesting to see what changes are made in the near future.

Sites with paid links may lose their ability to pass link value to other pages

Google may use "semi-automatic approaches to ignore paid links," such as manual reviews, spam reports and so on

Not all paid links are bad, only those that "flow PageRank and attempt to game Google’s rankings"

Examples given of bad paid links include those that have links to pages that are not related and pages hiding the fact that they are paid links

Google still picks up on the two examples above, according to Matt

Google wants spam reports on paid links to better test, confirm and improve their algorithms

Directory links from directories that reject submissions, charge a fee and have quality listings in the directory should be fine

Don't try to hide the links or make them "undetectable," as Google will find them

Microsoft decided against Google’s Gmail.

The new version of Hotmail launched recently by Microsoft. This new version went online in 36 different languages as part of worldwide launch. Old Users can upgrade on logging into their accounts.

Hotmail having completely new interface, such as that used by Gmail. This shows that Microsoft decided to go against Google’s Gmail. They planned to include several Outlook features.

And one more thing is about the latest threat against Google!

Yes, it is all about Microsoft acquiring Yahoo!

Microsoft is trying to buy Yahoo to build their power to fight against Google (the SE giant). But I don’t think this is going to work out for Microsoft or Yahoo… let me know your comments.

Link Popularity in MSN

Today when I was searching Link Popularity in MSN, I was shocked you know why because MSN has discontinued reporting results for the operator 'link:'. As such, we can’t search Link Popularity in MSN. More information regarding their decision is available on the MSN blog.

Then I tried through Marketleap (link popularity tool) and you what same problem there also, it’s not showing result from msn. To get quick result from Google, Yahoo and MSN (total link), Marketleap is the easiest way to find out the Link popularity. But now we won’t get MSN result.

Updated Personalized Homepage to iGoogle

Now a day Google is Updating the name a lot, Like Froogle was Re-named to Google Product Search and now “Google Personalized Homepage” is Updated to iGoogle.

Few days back some problem happened in Google Personalized Homepage but I don’t have any problem now with my iGoogle (new name), its opening and working properly.

With iGoogle, Google is trying to push the concept of Google as more than just a search engine, Encouraging users to create personal spaces at iGoogle not only increases the amount of time users spend on Google's site, it also opens additional advertising and promotional opportunities, all of which the company would welcome as it continues to look beyond its search engine for additional revenue sources.

Google lost personalized homepage preferences.

I love Google (and I really do like every web product they produce), this is just inexcusable.

Google has apparently lost the personalized homepage preferences of hundreds of users, and over 150 people have posted as having the problem on Google Groups since 6:45 am. Users are coming into their accounts and seeing them rolled back several months, losing the last few months of customizations, and any attempt to edit their pages and fix it gets rolled backwards.

So Please Do not change your homepage theme until the problem has been solved.

That’s what Google has to worry about with stuff like this. No matter how good your software is, if it crashes, loses data, is unavailable, or just has weird bugs, people will desert you and all your hard work will be for nothing.

Froogle renamed

You may be familiar with Froogle (a pun on "frugal"). Froogle, the name is very confused type because it doesn’t describe what the product does.

Because of this now onwards Froogle renamed as Google Product Search, but it doesn’t change the wide variety of items you can find with Product Search and this update will be easier to search or buy product for any kinda user or buyer.

Form cookies to g.i. joe whatever or new logoboard, everything is like the same and easy to find.

Google updated its Spreadsheet,

Google updated its Spreadsheet, now it supports charts. its easier then Microsoft Excel's chart feature also simple and easy to use, the good thing is that now you can export file as PNG so that you can publish chart or spreadsheet onto a Web-page.

Just select the cells you need and hit the chart button at the top.

The Sitemap protocol aims to provide a standard format for site maps, which should simplify their creation by web publishers and their discovery and interpretation by search engines.

The Sitemap protocol was originally developed by Google and is offered under the terms of the Attribution-ShareAlike Creative Commons License

All web crawlers recognize the robots.txt instruction, which tells crawlers not to index certain information, so now webmasters can indicate the location of their site map file within robots.txt files. Meanwhile, the Sitemap's official website is now available in 18 languages.

Now the latest update is rare collaboration between search rivals Google, Yahoo and Microsoft over site maps has yielded its first result.

The trios have enhanced Sitemap, a protocol designed to simplify how webmasters and online publishers submit their sites' content for indexing in search engines.

Along with the improvements, the vendors also announced that IAC/InterActiveCorp's Ask.com will support the protocol, which thus gains backing from another major search engine operator. IBM also signed up to support the effort.
